Yu Zhao-Yi, born in 1935, graduated from National Taiwan Normal University. 
Yu went to Paris for advanced courses in Les Etablissements Publics Nationaux in 1964 and later as a professional artist, Yu settled down in N.Y. in 1968.  His works in the 70s were selected by the Lincoln Bank to be used for posters of United States Bicentennial.  Yu excels in using multi-media such as Acrylic, water-ink and so on; he mélanges the magic playful childness in Chagall with the brush of Chinese water-ink, establishing his own unique style.  At present, Yu Zhao-Yi can be seen as the one who has the highest visibility among the Chinese artists circle in N.Y.
