TAIWANb.1930
Wang Shiu-Gong, who was born in Gangsu Province and graduated from Hangzhou Art School, came to Taiwan in 1949, and learned the skill of making ceramic glaze from Shao-Bai Li.  At that time, ceramic skill was still at the cultivating stage in Taiwan and was considered as daily craftwork – not for any artistic value.  However, Wang thought “pottery painting” is also a form of art.
Wang explored “Refractory Multicolor Glaze.”  In addition, his “Refractory Under Glaze” not only initiates the china decoration of Chinese ink painting, but is brought into artworks with his drawing expertise as well.  Wang’s works express interesting huge flamboyance, which is abstract but full of concrete meaning.
