CHIANG JUI-KENG蔣瑞坑

Chiang was born in Reifang, a village near the north coast of Taiwan in 1922.  He received colonial Japanese education in childhood; his interest for art began early; therefore, even when it’s economically difficult, Chiang still went to Kawabata Painting School study Western painting.  After returning back to Taiwan, Chiang had chance go underground mining; this kind of experience and the later works he created won him the name “The Miner Painter.”  His works is as lively as if the color is running rough and wide while delicate details still remain.  Chiang’s solo exhibition was held in 1986.  In 1975 Chiang was selected into the U.S. Bicentennial Exhibition and other domestic exhibitions for several times as well.
